EARTH SOIL FROM 29 PAPUA REGIONS FLOWN TO IKN

Papua Governor Lukas Enembe did not attend the event with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to undergo the vessel ritual at IKN Nusantara, East Kalimantan. However, he still sent earth soil from Papua which was brought by the Assistant for General Administration of the Papua Regional Secretary, Y. Derek Hagemur.
“The Governor of Papua, represented by the Assistant for General Administration of the Regional Secretary of Papua, Mr. Y. Derek Hagemur, brought soil from 29 regencies/cities in the Land of Cendrawasih,” said Spokesman for the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, Rifai Darus, as quoted by CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (Monday). 14/3).
Rifai regards the 29 soils from Papua as a symbol that Papua supports the construction of the new capital city in East Kalimantan. Meanwhile, the water was brought using a Jiwag, a container to collect water for the Papuan people. The Jiwag is made from a pumpkin plant through a combustion process to remove the contents of the pumpkin so that it is firm. “Water is a life-giving symbol for every living creature,” he said.
On the other hand, Rifai said that his party would also plant Matoa trees at IKN Nusantara. Matoa is a typical plant species that grows in Papua. “It is hoped that IKN will grow with the same character of Papua,” he said.
Jokowi camped at point zero where the State Palace will be built. Governors were invited and required to bring soil and water upon visiting IKN. The soil and water brought by the governors will be used in a traditional ritual with Jokowi by pouring them into the Kendi Nusantara, a large copper vessel.
Health Reasons

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said that the six governors were absent due to health reasons. “All the reasons for the absence permit were due to their health,” Heru said, as quoted from Antara. The absent Papua Governor Lukas Enembe was represented by Assistant III of the General Administration of the Papua Regional Secretary Y. Derek Hagemu.
Then the Governor of Bangka Belitung Islands, Erzaldi Rosman, was also absent and was represented by Deputy Governor Abdul Fatah. Bali Governor Wayan Koster was represented by Bali Deputy Governor Tjok Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, Gorontalo Governor was represented by Gorontalo Deputy Governor Idris Rahim and Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran was represented by Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo.
In the procession, all the soil and water that were handed over by the governors and the governor’s representatives were collected together by the President and stored in a large vessel. The first governor to hand over soil and water from his area was Anies Baswedan, the Governor of DKI Jakarta.
