FREEPORT EMPLOYEES GET SALARY AND ALLOWANCE INCREASE

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) together with 3 trade/labor union organizations agreed to increase wages and several benefit components for PTFI employees. This collective labor agreement is known to be valid for 2 years.
Quoting finance.detik.com, the signing of the XXII PKB was carried out by PTFI President Director Tony Wenas and the Heads of Trade Unions/Laborers, starting from the Chairman of the PK FPE Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (SBSI) PTFI Albert Janampa, Chairman of the Papua Independent Workers Union (SPMP) PTFI Virgo Solossa, and Head of PUK SP KEP PTFI All-Indonesian Workers Union (SPSI) Lukas Saleo.
“This is one of the fastest PKB settlements because all parties did it with sincere intentions and no personal interests, because if this company runs well, employees will prosper,” said Tony at Four Points, Manado, Thursday (17/3). /2022).
Tony detailed a number of agreements in the agreement, including an agreement on a scheme to increase the basic wages of PTFI Primary employees in 2022 and 2023.
He added that this agreement also agreed on an additional one-time payment of old-age savings and an increase in educational assistance for school children. At the same time, there is an expansion of services and coverage of the company’s medical care card.
“This is what was agreed upon in the negotiations. There were many things discussed, which were signed in Manado, these are things that were mutually agreed upon,” he explained.
In her virtual speech, the Director General of Social and Industrial Relations of the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), Indah Anggoro Putri urged that this cooperation agreement be immediately disseminated.
“First and foremost, what the union leaders should do is to carry out socialization. From the cooperation agreement document and disseminated to all workers and its members,” Putri said.
She emphasized that the signed and agreed cooperation agreement has become a joint commitment. Thus, PTFI needs to provide socialization to workers in easy-to-understand language. “Immediately conduct socialization or question and answer discussions, especially those concerning the rights of workers, namely holiday allowances, then maybe related to social security and educational facilities and so on,” she concluded.
