Harvey Malaihollo is a singer with innumerable achievements. Harvey Malaihollo’s full name is Harvey Benjamin Malaihollo. Harvey Malaihollo’s career started as an actor, singer, and now a politician.
In 1970, Harvey Malaihollo started his musical career by competing with other senior singers, such as Broery Marantika, Bimbo, Dedy Damhudi, and Anna Mathovani.
Harvey Malaihollo finally reached his popularity around the 1980s. Harvey Malaihollo has released dozens of albums since the 1970s. His first album, titled Vol.1, was released in 1977, Sudah Kubilang, Coklat Susu, Aku Begini Kau Begitu, Sentuhan Kasih, and ended with Begitulah Cinta in 2000.
Not only personal albums, Harvey Malaihollo also launched dozens of duet and compilation albums. Harvey Malaihollo has released four duet albums with Rafika Duri, 3 duet albums with Ireng Maulana, a duet album with Elfa Secioria, and an Old and New album with Bram Titaley.

In 1993, Harvey Malaihollo participated in the Cerbul de Aur Song Festival in Bosof, Romania. Two years in a row since 1975, Harvey won 1st Prize in Jakarta’s Radio & Television Singer Contest/Radio & Television Star. From 1986 to 1991, Harvey Malaihollo became The Best Singer of the National Pop Song Festival/Indonesian Popular Song Festival. Harvey Malaihollo has also explored singing festivals from Asia to the United States.
Since 2019, Harvey Malaihollo has been involved in politics and joined the PDIP. In January 11, 2022, Harvey Malaihollo served as an interim substitute member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Indonesian Democratic Party Faction from the West Papua constituency replacing Jimmy Demianus Ijie who died.
Harvey’s footsteps in the political world began to be seen in 2019. At that time, he participated in the legislative general election and ran as a Member of the Indonesian Parliament from the PDIP Faction for the Electoral District of West Papua. However, Harvey failed to qualify for Senayan because he only got 16,993 votes. Harvey lost to two incumbent candidates, Robert Cardinal from the Golkar Party with 62,303 votes and his partner in PDIP Jimmy Demianus Ijie who received 66,555 votes.
In July 2021, Jimmy Demianus Ijie died. Harvey was then appointed and inaugurated as a member of the Indonesian Parliament as Interim Substitute (PAW) from the PDIP Faction replacing Jimmy in the plenary session on January 11th. He also officially serves as a member of Commission IX of the West Papua electoral district.
