The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, ensured supervision for the distribution of direct cash assistance (BLT) for cooking oil throughout Indonesia, including the Papua region. Risma said the distribution of the BLT for cooking oil is for 20.56 million Beneficiary Families (KPM) until April 21, 2022.
The distribution of the BLT for cooking oil is confirmed to be compatible with the validated integrated social welfare data (DTKS). In some cases, such as the distribution of aid in Papua, Risma uses certain methods for monitoring so that the target is right.
“In Papua for instance, we have to use tribal chiefs to work together, and there is the church. We even have to rent a special plane,” said Risma, at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 13, 2022, as reported by fin.co.en.
She also emphasized that the distribution of BLT for cooking oil must be completed before May 2022. And in May, the KPM will receive regular social assistance (bansos) as usual. The distribution of BLT funds for cooking oil was carried out between April 4-21 together with the basic food card program or BPNT (NonCash Food Aid).
The BLT for cooking oil is given with an index of Rp. 100,000 every month for three months (April, May and June), which is given all at once in April 2022. So that people who meet the requirements will receive assistance worth Rp. 300 thousand per KPM – which is provided in cash through PT Pos Indonesia.
The BLT for Cooking Oil has reached the target of 20.65 million KPM. They are 18.8 million KPM Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) and 1.85 million KPM Keluarga Harapan Program (PKH) which have not been registered as BPNT recipients.
Previously, the government had said that it would provide BLT for cooking oil to the poor and street vendors (PKL) who are affected by the high price of cooking oil in the market. It should be noted that the BLT for cooking oil is given to 23 million people. In detail, 20.5 million families are included in the list of recipients of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) and the Keluarga Harapan Program (PKH), as well as 2.5 million Street Vendors (PKL).
